Collectibles are gateways to greater participation in a network of games, experiences, and rewards. Within The Root Network, collectibles serve as your digital identity, they provide access across experiences, and unlock exclusive benefits through our new RootRewards program.
As part of this interconnected ecosystem, your Collectible Score plays a crucial role. The higher your Collectible Score, the more Root Points (RP) you earn in RootRewards.
In this guide, we’ll explore how Collectible Score works, why it matters, and how you can maximize your rewards while playing an active part of the open metaverse.
Why Does Collectible Score Matter?
If you are a collector in the Futureverse ecosystem, your Collectible Score enhances your reward potential within RootRewards. Each cycle, at least 50% of the total rewards pool is allocated to collectors based on their Collectible Score. The higher your score, the greater the Root Points (RP) bonus you receive at the end of each cycle.
How to Get a Collectible Score
To start growing your Collectible Score and receiving RP bonuses, you need to:
- Create a FuturePass – This is essential for participating in RootRewards.
- Hold eligible collectibles – Keep these in either:
- A FuturePass wallet on The Root Network, or
- An Ethereum wallet linked to your FuturePass.
- Keep collectibles in your wallet – Your score only reflects assets you actively hold. If a collectible leaves your wallet (e.g., sold or leased), it no longer contributes to your Collectible Score.
You can check your Collectible Score at any time in your FuturePass Dashboard.
What Affects Your Collectible Score?
Several factors influence the calculation of your Collectible Score:
- Collection – Different collections have different base scores.
- Rarity – Higher rarity items generally contribute more points.
- Time Held – The longer you hold a collectible, the greater the potential score boost.
- Special Traits - Some traits carry a higher bonus than others
Eligible Collectibles
A wide range of collectibles count towards your Collectible Score, eligible collectibles can be found on leading marketplaces across Ethereum and The Root Network. Many can also unlock access or be utilised in games and experiences live now too.
