The Root Network is proud to support the beta launch of the Think Agent Standard, a groundbreaking framework designed to unlock the full potential of decentralized, autonomous AI agents across networks.

Developed by Thinkagents.ai in collaboration with the Independent AI Institute, a collective of contributors from over 70 companies, the Think Agent Standard introduces a universal method for AI agents to communicate, transact, and operate onchain. Just as ERC-20 enabled the token economy, this new standard provides the foundation for AI to become a core pillar of the decentralized internet.

Intelligent, Interoperable, Onchain

In a digital landscape dominated by centralized AI platforms, the Think Agent Standard shifts the paradigm toward open, composable, and self-sovereign intelligence. AI agents built with the standard can own wallets, sign transactions, and interact with smart contracts across any connected chain. This enables a new generation of permissionless software agents.

“We’re at a turning point,” said Mike Anderson, core contributor to Thinkagents.ai. “In the same way that open-source software reshaped the internet, we believe the Think Agent Standard will set a new benchmark for AI. By creating a truly permissionless and composable standard, our team and partners are unlocking AI’s full potential to become a first-class citizen of the blockchain economy.”

This vision aligns closely with The Root Network’s mission to power the infrastructure for intelligent, interoperable Web3 experiences. The Root Network plays a foundational role in the Think Agent ecosystem, serving as the home for the genomic identity layer of each agent.

Powered by Non-Fungible Intelligence™ on The Root Network

Each Think AI agent is composed of three key components:

  • Soul (NFI): A persistent digital identity that establishes ownership, memory, and authentication, anchored on The Root Network.
  • Mind: The logic system that governs behavior, learning, and decision-making.
  • Body: The interface that enables interaction with various platforms and applications.

This structure allows agents to operate as modular, cross-platform entities. It empowers use cases across generative AI, robotics, gaming, decentralized governance, and more.

The launch of the Think Agent Standard is further strengthened by integration of the Murmur Matrix, an AI memory system that grants agents contextual understanding, long-term memory, and adaptability across environments. These capabilities are essential for real-world applications where persistent identity and memory must carry over across networks.

By anchoring the Non-Fungible Intelligence (NFI) layer on The Root Network, agents gain a cryptographically secure identity layer that is interoperable by design. This reinforces The Root Network’s role as core infrastructure for an open, intelligent metaverse.

Ecosystem-Wide Support

We believe the future of the internet is interconnected, interoperable, and cross-chain. The Think Agent Standard embodies this vision, enabling AI agents to move fluidly between networks and applications. Already, the standard is gaining momentum across the decentralized ecosystem. Companies including Yuga Labs, Arbitrum, Magic Eden, Venice.ai, Alchemy, Render Network, ApeCoin Foundation, Heurist, Aethir, Spheron, and Morpheus Network have begun integrating or collaborating on real-world applications. Their involvement validates the standard’s potential across infrastructure, gaming, AI, and beyond.

“Our mission at Futureverse is to enable the open, interoperable intelligent metaverse. THINK is a cornerstone protocol to enable that outcome, providing a simple protocol to enable users to take their agent everywhere they go and to build the worlds they imagine.” Aaron McDonald, CEO, Futureverse.

What’s Next

The first application built on the Think Agent Standard is SOULS, a personal AI agent that users can own, train, and customize. With access to thousands of open-source apps, SOULS represents the next frontier of user-owned AI.

The beta version of the standard is now live. Upcoming milestones include the full mainnet launch, the debut of the THINK token, and expansion of the ecosystem into compute, media, gaming, and more.

Developers and builders are invited to explore the standard, contribute, and begin building with Think Agents.
